Lectio Divina is not simply reading Scripture. It is a sacred sequence of speech acts that transforms text into encounter. As Saint Teresa of Ávila taught, the soul does not speak with noise, but with presence.

1. Lectio – careful reading (literal input)
2. Meditatio – reflective processing (semantic unfolding)
3. Oratio – heartfelt response (volitional speech)
4. Contemplatio – silent reception (pure presence)

The soul listens as the Word becomes flesh in her interior. The grammar here is not academic: it is spiritual, affective, incarnational.

The text is not mastered. The text reads the reader.

After the fourth stage, a fifth arrives unannounced: the silence where God speaks without sound.

This is not only a method — it is the dawn of a new discipline: the linguistics of silence.

La Lectio Divina no es simple lectura. Es una secuencia sagrada de actos lingüísticos que convierte el texto en encuentro. Como enseñaba Santa Teresa de Ávila, el alma no habla con ruido, sino con presencia.

1. Lectio – lectura atenta (entrada literal)
2. Meditatio – reflexión interior (despliegue semántico)
3. Oratio – respuesta afectiva (palabra del alma)
4. Contemplatio – recepción silenciosa (presencia pura)

El alma escucha mientras el Verbo se hace carne en su interior. Esta gramática no es académica: es espiritual, afectiva, encarnada.

No se domina el texto. El texto lee al lector.

Y tras la cuarta etapa, llega una quinta: el silencio donde Dios habla sin sonido.
